Ryan Thompson is an international correspondent who has reported from more than two dozen countries across Europe and the Middle East, covering conflict, diplomacy, and the defining political shifts of our time.

With a camera in hand and curiosity as a compass, Ryan brings a deeply human approach to international news — telling high-stakes stories through the eyes of those living them. From front-line reporting in Ukraine to post-October 7th coverage in Israel, he is trusted for his calm, empathetic presence on-air and his ability to break down complex issues for audiences worldwide.

Previously based in Paris, Ryan served as NEWSnet’s International Editor, overseeing network coverage across the EMEA region while continuing to report in the field. He has navigated the challenges of each deployment — from language barriers to restrictive media environments — to deliver honest, accessible journalism in rapidly evolving situations.

He has worked across legacy broadcasters and digital-first platforms, often producing entire stories on his own: filming with cinema-grade cameras or his iPhone, and editing to meet tight deadlines.
