Ryan Thompson is a multi-platform correspondent who has reported from more than two dozen countries across North America, Europe, and the Middle East — covering conflict, immigration, and the political shifts reshaping the world.
With a camera in hand and curiosity as a compass, Ryan brings a deeply human approach to reporting, telling high-stakes stories through the experiences of the people living them. Whether on the frontlines of Ukraine or outside the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, he is known for his calm on-air presence and his ability to explain history and complex geopolitical issues with clarity for global audiences.
Previously based in Paris, Ryan served as International Editor for NEWSnet, overseeing the network’s coverage of EMEA, while continuing to actively report from the field. Highlights include exclusive access to Air Force food aid flights over Gaza, extensive coverage of France’s 2025 political crisis, post-October 7th reporting from Israel, and the lead-up to the Paris Olympics.
More recently, Ryan has been based in Los Angeles as a Multimedia Journalist at Spectrum News, covering the impact of the Trump Administration’s immigration crackdown. His reporting has taken him into California’s agricultural communities, alongside rapid-response immigration groups, and inside an early morning raid after securing rare ride-along access with ICE agents.
Ryan has worked across both legacy broadcasters and digital-first platforms, often producing entire stories independently — filming with cinema-grade cameras or his iPhone. He is also bilingual in French.
From global summits to the Olympic Games, his reporting spans politics, conflict, culture, and sport — exploring not only the forces that divide the world, but the moments that connect us.
Ryan is represented by United Talent Agency in New York.
